    Default Media Player for Win10

    Hey Guys,
    I recently built a new box with Win10 - 64bit version 1909.

    Vlc which I have used for years will not run on Win10 - several versions including the one that ran perfectly on my 64bit Win7 box will install, play one file and then crash.
    It either stops altogether or keeps playing the file but locks all controls.
    Coincidentally, Acrobat was the same until about the third install, I've done all the Win updates plus sound and graphics drivers.
    Win Media player works fine and is stable, but it only allows a single screen - I need to be able to have multiple windows open because I will start watching something then pause it and start watching something else.

    Can anyone recommend either a media player that'll allow multiple windows, or is there a way to make win media player do it.
    Cheers

    I have no problems with VLC on my machine and it’s Win 10 64 bit. Not sure what’s causing you problem.

    i have run VLC on my Win10. Works fine; not that i use it very often. I'm running 2004 (in Insiders Fast, so on build 19624) but have had it there a few months and haven't seen an issue. I'm running (as of right now, post an auto-update) VLC 3.0.10

    VLC plays ok on my Win 10/64;
    but I am currently using PotPlayer Portable which loads much faster than VLC on my laptop.

    You could try VLC portable, just create a Portable folder and install there.
    You can copy and paste portable shortcuts to the start menu and desktop

    FYI Every media player released in the past 5 years that I have tried has run on my W-64 machines.

    Not sure that I have had a number of streams running on the player with a number paused though?
