    Default 240 V mains cable

    Hi All,

can someone tell me when the colour code for 240V mains appliance cable changed from red/black/green to brown/blue/green & yellow? Reason is I was changing the cable on an old makita polisher that had a very dodgy repair involving twisting copper strands and black tape. The plug end was brown/blue etc whilst the polisher end was red/black etc.

    Thanks, Paul M

I think it was two? standard revisions back whenever that was.

The previous colour for the Active phase was not just red it was ANY colour other than green, yellow, green/yellow, black or light blue
