    Default Repairing Cabriole leg chairs

I restored a full suite of chairs several years ago before we had kids. Then along came the kids who gradually broke a few as i didnt fix them properly in the first place. They are now old enough that i can now repair some of them again so they aint so wobbly and have tjem all re-upholstered.
Some of the stretcher rails had of course been used as a step to find stuff in the cupboard and have broke. I have used hide glue the put them back together.

In the next pic you can just see the glue joint.

    Question for the experts:
Do you think i need to put a dowel in to help support the two pieces....my hide glue was freshly made. I cant twist the joint apart.
