Black chipboard night-table repair/refinish
Canada calling! Could someone help me out? I would like to find out how to repair corner damage, nicks and surface damage to black bedside tables. They seem to be made of a coated chipboard material...not solid wood. There is a thin black coating on top of the chipboard made to look like wood....(I have no idea what that type of finish is called.) One corner has been damaged to reveal the chipboard underneath, the top surface finish has been damaged slightly in one area (not sure how), and a couple of nicks along the front edge. They aren't expensive tables, but other than this damage, they are in good condition. Does anyone have any advice on how I can go about repairing the finish?
I have photos...but not quite sure how to insert them here.
Thanks
Roxanne

Color it in with a black freezer marker/texta to hide it.
