mirotone water base clears
just discovered some water base finishes at Mirotone and wondering if any one has had any experience using them.
First is Iridea - a 2 pack water base matt and satin
second is Mirotec WB single pack available in a range of gloss levels - hopefully matt as well
thanks to any one who can relate positive or otherwise anecdotes on either or bothray c
dunno what's more fun, buyin' the tools or usin' em'

Interesting. Whilst I use euro oil wax finishes on my furniture mostly. The finish mightn’t work well for small things like boxes, earrings, banglesthere might be some time advantages in spraying.

I might see if I can get a sample. I’m certainly not going to take a punt on 5 litres. Coverage is a bit ordinary as well.

I'm interested too, I am about to try out some Cabothane Water Based Polyurethane to see what I can do with that.
Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

i have used the cabothane stuff on one guitar -
no way is WB as forgiving as good old mirotone precat which is so easy to use - man o man my asthma has been so bad this winter I just have to ditch those stinky chemicals - the acrylic base auto colour is even worse than mirotone in VOC's
the cabothane worked fine it was shall we say a sealer coat on a pretty rustic finish - you cant lay on many coats - it is a pain to clean the gun and you cant leave it in the gun for days on end it just gunks up the works - I doubt it would be any use for a rubbed out high gloss but as a matt or satin ok

Arh, thanks for that, I'll save it for the Satin Finish rustic stuff.
I am keen to hear of anything else in water base that works.Cliff.

Used to use Target EM6000 years ago - the third guitar I built in around 2006 owned by a mate of mine has that on it [among a few others] and it is still bright, shiny and rock hard. a real pain to rub back as witness lines were a problem - you could only dry sand it and it had to hang at least a month.
Can't get Target Coatings here in Australia - not sure they carry em6000 any more but they do have 2-3 different finishes that look as though they would be good options
I am going to chase up mirotone and see what the tech dept has to say - I am after a decent satin/matt that will keep a dry surface - the mirotone 3220 single pack low gloss finishes polish to a bright shine if you look at them too hard -way too sticky for some playersray c
