Box Hill RSL GTG 28th October 2019
The weather is warming up again so it's time to get together and talk woodworking.
Venue: RSL lounge room, Nelson St Box Hill 3128.
Time: 7.00pm - 9.30pm
The RSL includes an excellent dining room where some of us enjoy a pre-meeting dinner commencing at 6.15pm. If you are interest let us know before 5.00pm on the 24th to be included in the group booking.
Do you have a small project you have recently completed - bring it (or photographs) along and tell us about it.
Do you have a problem or need advice on equipment, etc - let's discuss it and see if we can find a solution.
While we all share a common interest in woodturning, you will find some with interests also in wood work in general, metal work, blacksmithing, knife making, photography , etc.
So come along! Husbands, wives, partners and friends are most welcome.
All you have to do is reply to this thread letting us know you are coming and importantly whether you wish to join us for dinner beforehand.

Well I would love to go, but I have a business meeting on that evening; but the next month would be great. Or maybe a slightly later meeting, second week in November............

Jools and I would like to attend but due to some family circumstances we will not make a definite commitment until closer to the date.
I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.

So far we only have 4 starters. What does it take to get you out of the shed for some food and a chin wag?

I currently have an infection in my right leg, making it about the approximate size, weight, Janka Hardness and texture as a Gidgee stump. And the colour is not much different either.
I spent a few days in hospital in IV antibiotics. I am still on IV antibiotics but being treated at home with "Hospital in the Home" nurses coming to treat me twice a day. I am still technically an in-patient even though I am at home.
I would love to be able to say that I will be able to attend but that would be wishful thinking at this stage.
At this stage I will just say - enjoy your night Ladies and GentlemenI got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.

Sounds very painful so you will just have to be a good boy and do as the nurses say.
Remember every cloud has a silver lining and if they do have to amputate it could be turned into a very attractive table leg!!
Get well soon

TONIGHT IS OFF
Matt has called in sick so that left only Kuffy and myself. As Kuffy has to travel from the other side of town and there is no pressing business to deal with, I have made the decision to postpone the evening.

Apologies for my absence but it has been my turn to be on the sick list. Arthritis in neck, shoulder and elbow flared up again and I have been on the Ultra-sound, MRI, injections merry-o-round.
Anyway I survived and am back on deck.
Firstly, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all from Maureen and myself.
Regarding our next meeting, I haven't heard if DaveTTC is running "Whatcha doing in Dooen" on the Australia Day Weekend. I will message him this morning. If he is, our next GTG would be Feb 24th 2020. If "Whatcha doing in Dooen" is not happening, is there any interest in getting together in January? Maybe Jan 20th as Australia Day is Friday 27th and many would have had a long weekend.

Sorry to hear about your medical problems Bob. I have had my share too recently, but on the mend now.
Australia Day weekend Jools and I will be going to Horsham, whether Dave runs Dooen or not, to visit our friends who we stay with when we attend Dave's event.
That may or may not wipe us out for January. We will try to be available for a February dinner.I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.
