It's in the job description of every generation to horrify their parents. My lot did it with recreational drugs, long hair, promiscuous sex and suicidal driving tendencies. I guess today's kids are just as horrifying because they are so pathetic.

Knowing everything is not new to today's teenagers.

I expect reality will hit home if they ever leave their parents homes.

My 19yo daughter does that by studying hard at uni while working part time, not drinking/dancing/smoking, having the same boyfriend for the last two years and listening to Elton John. Oh, she’s also the Social Sec at the university Pokemon Club. She’s been living on her own in Brisbane CBD for the last 6 months and has yet to miss a rent payment or run out of electricity.

Her wine-addled mother and tattooed metal-head father are at a loss to work out where we failed so poorly as parents.

    You should be ashamed !
You didn’t even get Black Sabbath into her

I have a niece just like this in Canada
When I explained to her I was those kids in the Nirvana Teen spirit clip.

I always think that the trouble with kids these days is they are too much like us when we were that age.

One of the big differences I've noticed. When we were that age the boys would leave school and go straight to pursuing a career and saving. The girls would travel and later settle down. Now it seems the opposite. So many of my friends daughters have careers and investment portfolios in their early 20's while the boys just seem lost until late 20's.

I just hope there are competent people to look after me when I have to go into assisted care. Our time has passed, they will define the future..
