No finger-pointing, but that's how it is. Quote the lot, highlight the unwanted txt and --8<--

Personally I've always considered Windows aptly named. It's a pane, easily broken, is a poor means of access and a right bastard to keep in good condition.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

Now to teach me for being a smartypants, I have encountered a "problem" of my own. From time to time, the board software changes the case of letters, resulting in an unintenional nonsensical message.

I have noticed that this occurs also to the lower classes who can only afford PC's as well:

Now is typed; : (nospace) D
Last night while trying to impose some incisive wit on a thread, I typed a reply which was supposed to read:

    but read:
    :d :d :d

Knowing I had not made a mistake, I was curious and edited the post:

Again the machine thought that I wanted lower case, so my published message said:
    :d :d :d

I don't like taking no for an answer, so edited the post again:
    :d :d , which published to:
    :d :d

    Aha! So then I tried
    :d and hit "submit":

    :d :d :d

So I deleted the post and went to bed.

I know that I am not the only one, I've seen the :d :d's and nod knowingly when they happen.... but why??

    cheers,

    P

It does it when it's the only thing in the post.

Usually it's the only thing worth reading in my posts anyway!

    G'Day All,

I also have had the same problem of "locking-up" when trying to reply to a thread, with or without a quote? ....Not that it matters, as I'm the only one who reads 'em I think! ....Can't wait to read this one!...Ha!Ha!

    A common problem, apparently.
