Hello everyone.
Just joined and looking forward to learning and sharing my wood working journey as well. I dabble in lots of things. I do some pyrography, whittling, carving and have recently been given a lathe and tools that belonged to my dear old father-in-law who passed away a couple of years ago. I still need to get up to Glen Innes to pick this up, so will be devouring the tourning pages. Also very interested in learning some basic joinery and box making. I have a niche interest in medieval grimoires and replicating tools from them, so I dabble in silversmithing, metal work, engraving and painting too. Oh and beer and mead making. I have a bit going on
Cheers,
B

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Bumper".
There are quite a few members in Canberra and around the Southern Highlands with a stack of members in Sydney area plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork......
Cheers crowie

Thanks Crowie. Loads of good local info on here, lurking and learning at the moment! I'll be getting in touch with the ACT woodcraft guild soon, just waiting for my broken elbow to come good so I can drive again. Picking up the lathe in mid September now, not too long to wait I guess so will see if I can pick up some skills from the guild in anticipation. I have a few projects planned, including a couple of carvings (just picked up a nice piece of huon pine to work on), a card table and some round (turned) boxes. Cheers, B.
