Employee
I used to have a bloke working for me, he was give some drawings of a product that he'd made previously,
as he was asked to make 10 of them.
When I came back later to see how he was going, he'd put the cutouts in the back instead of the side!!!
He was asked WHY, his reply was "I thought the drawings were wrong."
It was then that I nicknamed him Taillight.
He asked me after a few weeks why I named him Taillight.
I told him because he wasn't bright enough to be a Brakelight. To grow old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

Every year or so I would get several engineers straight out of University. Very few of them would stay beyond the one year commitment. System Engineering is a unique discipline, some get it and some don't. The ones that stayed were usually exceptionally good at Systems Engineering.
That said, the scariest things that the women engineers could ever say were, "I'm getting married." Followed by a later statement, "I'm pregnant." Everyone just knew that we were losing a very good Systems Engineer. It was only a matter of time.
The job was in the network field and it is one of those things that took between 6 and 18 months before the engineer really understood what they were doing. You would wake up in the shower one morning and understand what it was all about.

Had a bloke who worked for me once and everyone referred to him as Emu.
You would ask him a question and he would turn his head around to look at you and go....HUHH?. Ya gotta picture it.

The person who never made a mistake never made anything
