every day is a good day, if you wake up in the morning.
A couple of kangaroos short in the top paddock
A few sandwiches short of a picnic.
Good looks will take you somewhere, Knowledge will take you anywhere.
I opened the door for you Madam because i am a gentleman......not because you are a lady.
Respect is earnt as are friends.
If you dont like me, it is all mind over matter,...i dont mind and you dont matter.
The next civil war will be between the HAVES and the HAVE NOTS.
Common sense isnt common.
Your self esteem is your most valuable asset.
Honesty is the best policy.
Liars and theives are known by everything they say and everything they do.
If you look for the worst in people....most times you will find it.
Better to be a good friend for a day than a bad friend for life.
Dont judge people by their bank balance.if you always do as you have always done, you will always get what you have always got

And just to take it to a classical level!
Polonius's advice to his son Laertes:
Give thy thoughts no tongue,
Nor any unproportioned thought his act.
Be thou familiar, but by no means vulgar.
Those friends thou hast, and their adoption tried,
Grapple them to thy soul with hoops of steel;
But do not dull thy palm with entertainment
Of each new-hatch’d, unfledg’d comrade. Beware
Of entrance to a quarrel; but, being in,
Bear’t that the opposed may beware of thee.
Give every man thine ear, but few thy voice:
Take each man’s censure, but reserve thy judgement.
Costly thy habit as thy purse can buy,
But not expressed in fancy; rich, not gaudy:
For the apparel oft proclaims the man;
And they in France of the best rank and station
Are the most select and generous chief in that.
Neither a borrower nor a lender be:
For a loan oft loses both itself and friend;
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
This above all – to thine own self be true;
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Translation:
Keep you mouth shut and stay out of trouble.
Keep your mind out of the gutter.
Don't hang around with people you don't know.
Keep out of arguments.
Shut up and listen, you might learn something.
Frenchies are poofs.
Don't borrow money from a mate and don't lend him any either because the bastard might not pay you back.
Be honest with yourself - even if you're trying to screw someone - you might still get away with it."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

This is a maxim that I do actually live by, much to the chagrin of SWMBO.

To get the best effect brute force should be in tandem with theatrical aggression.
Knowledge advances by steps not leaps
The greatest pleasure I know is to do a good dead by stealth and have it found by accident.
Nature, time and patience are the three great physicians.
A swollen head is naturesfrantic effort to fill a vacuum.
An old maxim is when you have excluded the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
Friendship is love minus sex plus reason. Love is friendship plus sex minus reason.
A mans home is his wife's castle.
When written in Chinese, the word crisis is composed of two characters. One represents danger the other represents opportunity.
Whatever is good to know is difficult to learn.
No man can be a pure specialist without being in the strict sense an idiot - George Bernard Shaw.
Contract: an agreement that is binding on the weaker party.
As a final incentive before giving up a difficult task, try to imagine it successfully accomplished by someone you violently dislike.
The line that is straightest offers the most resistance.
We rarely confide in those that are better than us.
He who does not live in some degree for others, hardly lives for himself.
The darkness of the soul is not lighted by moving the body to another place.
You can get almost everything accomplished if you don't mind who gets the credit.
Life is like playing a violin in public and learning the instrument as one goes along.
You may be disappointed if you fail but you are doomed if you do not try.
It happens.Cheers
