    And just to take it to a classical level!

    Polonius's advice to his son Laertes:

    Give thy thoughts no tongue,
    Nor any unproportioned thought his act.
    Be thou familiar, but by no means vulgar.
    Those friends thou hast, and their adoption tried,
    Grapple them to thy soul with hoops of steel;
    But do not dull thy palm with entertainment
    Of each new-hatch’d, unfledg’d comrade. Beware
    Of entrance to a quarrel; but, being in,
    Bear’t that the opposed may beware of thee.
    Give every man thine ear, but few thy voice:
    Take each man’s censure, but reserve thy judgement.
    Costly thy habit as thy purse can buy,
    But not expressed in fancy; rich, not gaudy:
    For the apparel oft proclaims the man;
    And they in France of the best rank and station
    Are the most select and generous chief in that.
    Neither a borrower nor a lender be:
    For a loan oft loses both itself and friend;
    And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
    This above all – to thine own self be true;
    And it must follow, as the night the day,
    Thou canst not then be false to any man.

    Act I, Scene III of Hamlet by William Shakespeare.

    This is a maxim that I do actually live by, much to the chagrin of SWMBO.

    "When all else fails, use brute force".

    To get the best effect brute force should be in tandem with theatrical aggression.

    A bloke's girlfriend just bought his laptop in for repair.....
    It had a virus & he decided to 'delete a few files' to see if he could get rid of it.
    Anyway, the thing no longer runs windows.

    Here's the kicker... it also seems to have several faulty keys in the middle of the keyboard.

    Famous songs to live life by.

    OK, then how about...

    There she was just a walkin' down the street,

    singin' doo wah diddy diddy dum diddy do !
    If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.
