Finish for Bar
Hi All
I知 currently in theprocess of restoring a home bar furniture. I知 not sure what the actual woodis. I知 sanding it down to bare wood and staining it.
Being a bar and there will be chance of alcoholand liquid drops/spillage on top. What is the best finish for this type ofproject. I知 looking for a very durable finish but at the same time I don稚want any of the finishes to change the colour.
I was thinking of applying 6 coats of tung oil andthen 2 coats of wipe-on poly. I知 looking for a matte/satin finish and not tokeen on using resin.
Anyone got any better ideas for a durable finish?

Not all poly is alcohol resistant, so be careful with that. At work we always had table tops sprayed with a 2-pack poly which is safe with alcohol.
