Galaxy TSC-10?
Hi all,
I have just bought a 2nd hand contractor saw made by Galaxy in Taiwan. Date of manufacture is 08/1990. Seems to be a good solid saw fitted with a motor manufactured in Australia by CMG which is at least 2HP (need to look harder at the plate). It has all the fruity bits like rack and pinion operation to till the blade rather than the table, and same to raise and lower. It has 2 mitre slots and 2 large grid cast wings as well as one of those natty fences that are micro adjustable and lock at both ends from the feed end of the table.
The only issue the saw has and the reason why I got it for just $150.00 is a flogged out alloy pulley on the main shaft, but having now pulled her down, all else seems in order. The pinions are good, no play anywhere, I am replacing the pulley and doing the bearings at the same time, so all should be as new by next weekend.
Anyhow, the point of my post is not so much to skite (but a bit of that to I guess cause it seems to be a pretty good pickup) but to ask if any of you guys and girls have heard of, or had experience with this model of saw or any other Galaxy products?? I seem to recall a rather robust drill press I used a while back that was a Galaxy but can't be sure. Anyhow any info would be appreciated.
Cheers
Kim

I think maybe after 12 years and zero posts this thread is dead?
