    Question Painting Toys

    Can anyone tell me what is the best type of paint to use on toys I am making for my granddaughter.Appreciate any help.

    Peter,
    I still use oil based enamel. While one would not want to drink it when it hardens it is non offensive to children. It also retains a good gloss through years of use.

    I have found RESENE acrylic to be quite good. It is glossy and in bright vibrant colours.
    I buy test pots, it is high density and gives good coverage.

    I prefer vegetable oil myself but its not as colourful is it .

    I use the water based craft paints that come in small bottles.
