    Default Metal Forum Threads

It puzzles me why random metal working threads occasionally appear in the wood working forum, does anyone know why?

Because many moons ago they were linked together and many people are still members of both and wish to know when something new comes up on the metal forum. This is my take on it.

They are not random but new threads. The provide WWF members an update of what's going on in the MWF.

They are random as not all new threads are shown here and if I start a thread in the MW forum it does not appear here. Then the question arises what makes them disappear?

My thought, but likely to be proven wrong, was there is a post by a woodwork forum member in the metalwork forum. However I feel that this might not be always the case. BobL and Chris Parks might be able to let us know one way or the other if all their posts appear or only some.

I posted a new TEST thread in the MWF at 12:40 and it came across into the WWF at 1:50.

I post very little to the MW forum these days but I can't recall seeing the last thread I started being shown here though being old and decrepit I might be wrong. The question then is what makes them disappear, I presume they have a timed life would be my guess.

I checked back through all the posts on the "New Posts" pages which go back as far as 25 Oct (14 days) and all the new MW threads posted in that time that I can recall are all there. I guess they fall off the end of the New Posts list after two weeks just like all the WWF new posts do?

Also fall off the "New Posts" page if they have already been read by the person looking at the "New Posts" page as to them it is no longer new.

    Cheers

I realise this is old now but should have mentioned this before...

    • What is seen on these forums under Metalwork is an RSS Feed (Really Simple Syndication) from Metalwork Forums to here for those who still have an interest.
    • All of the Threads are Moderated before they go onto this forum.

    • Moderation isn't instant and some times may take a few days to be done depending on whether an admin or moderator is available to preview and approve or delete the moderated threads.
    • Not all Threads will be approved eg spam, defamatory, advertising , etc.

    • Not all Forums from MWF are listed on WWF so some may not come across to here.
