Hi, New bloke.
Hi
First time lurker, I though to pop in say hi. I went chasing information on a Durden Junior Joiner. I ended up here and found what I was looking for.
I'm slowly been getting into wood working as a hobby. I'm a sparky by trade. Sometimes I just don't get my hands dirty at work I need something else to focus on.
I do things a bit different when comes to life. I just make things work. I try and recycle as much I can into projects.
I have made a few things I'm proud off and that what I'm trying get out of my hobby.
Trying not spend so much money on tools or supplies. I came here to learn and see how the pro do things. As I've still got heaps to learn.
Enough rambling I see you guys about.

Hi and Welcome to a TOP FORUM.
If I could ask a big favour PLEASE, and that is to change your location to a town or suburb and state please? It makes it easier to help you if we have an idea as to your location. No point sending you to a place in Melbourne when you live in Perth, also if you need a hand to set up a machine, then someone may offer assistance IF they knew where you live.
Thanks,

Lol Yeah I know any hobby expensive But with having a wife and a kid trying to save for a house you gotta do what gotta do. At my skill level im happy to use wood that be deemed for tip or a fire but handy to practice on. Occasionally wife lets me buy stuff for shed. I pick up four decent wood planes for fiffty bucks. I scrounge through Facebook and gumtree for bigger tools. It amazing what deals can be had with not much money out laid.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum,
There are a stack of members in Brisbane & across S.E. Queensland plus the rest of the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.
Cheers crowie
PS - Don't forget "garage sales", "clearance sales", "deceased estates" for good old tools to get you started....
Council cleanup's can be a good source of useful secondhand timber too!!
