Lady Money-Potts advertised for two handyman gardeners at her leafy property. Two young mates, Geoff and Kryn answered the advert and were given an interview. “Show me your hands” said her ladyship, they held out their hands and she could see they were cracked and calloused from all the hard work they’d done. “ Now show me your knees” she demanded, so they rolled up their trouser legs and showed her their calloused and scarred knees from previous kneeling, working in rough garden environments. “Hmmm, yes well it seems you’re not frightened of hard work the pair of you, now show me your testimonials”.
Later, as they walked down the road, Kryn said to Geoff “ you know if we were better educated we’d have got that job.”
