Hi Woodworkers, i'm Gianni and as the name suggests i'm from Italy, last November i got hold of this business ( basically a website) making timber signs, not that i am experienced but basically after a work injury i had little chance of getting employed again so that’s why i tried the self employed card.
It’s sort of working out but since the end of financial year the demand dropped considerably and now i’m struggling to get something done, tried to look in to the website area to see if something is not right and probably ended up spending money in the wrong direction and still not many people are approaching me.
I’m not sure where and how but i could do with some advice/help and see what can i do to improve, and eventually i would look in to some sort of joint venture with someone that has a bit more business drive than i do.
If you are willing to give any advice or tip i will appreciate it, thanks guys.

What are you doing to advertise to local businesses / people?

What has the feedback been like from recent customers?

Think about whether it could be an advertising / marketing issue, a pricing issue, or a product issue.

Hi pippin88, thank for reaching out to me, the website is timbersigns.com.au and my nephew is having a look at the moment trying to refresh/restyle it and making mobile friendly, locally i haven't done much, a page on FB and subscribing to local council for small businesses, all contacts i had up till now are from other states of Australia and most of it based on Government supply of signs for parks and reserves.

There are is one issue I can see with your website it seems your site is not redirecting to your https:// although you do look to have an SSL certificate you are not redirecting to it, you may find google will penalize your search rankings for this.

I have done a few searches for "timber signs melbourne" and "wooden signs melbourne" and it seems you come up on page one in the search results of google but as I said above I would get that SSL issue fixed so google don't throw you down
in the search results.

Hi Joel,
Thanks for the insight, i always thought there's something wrong with the website, i called GoDaddy a couple of times in the last months and they have worked on the SSL certificate, web hosting and design it's not my cup of tea so i don't really know how to look in to it, like i said i let GoDaddy set that up because the website is hosted there, i can try and call them and see if they can look in to it.
