Need your advice in selecting Edgebander
Dear Forum mates,
I am very new to the woodworking field and I would like to make Wardrobes and TV units. As per our client's liking, mainly, I would use be using plywood and MDF boards.
After visiting some of the woodworking expos, I have finalized on going for Felder Panel Saw K700 S. I have not decided yet on the Edgebander. To my budget, Felder has recommended G330 Throughfeed Edgebander. As I am looking to produce high quality wardrobes and Tv units, the number of units produced would be very less, say 3 wardrobes and 2 tv units per week.
I am planning to outsource customized shutters for Wardrobe. So, it would be great if someone could guide whether it is necessary to go for a throughfeed Edgebander right now, or I can just manage with a manual Edgebander.
I am really looking forward for some help from you guys, as any piece of information would be very useful for me.
Thanks in advance!!

Legno's only post on these forums was in November 2012, and the last time he visited was at the end of that month, nearly 6 years ago.
I wouldn't hold my breath on a reply from him, though others might chime in with edgebanding information... what are you looking to edge band?

I'd get your accountant to look over the lease, see if they think it's a good deal for you. You'll want to ensure the residual isn't going to be higher than the market value at the end of the lease. G330 is a good machine, and a bit quicker than the Minimax equivalents at 8m a min. For single phase, it'll be best on its own circuit. Current draw with the glue pot element, chain feed and trimmers is pretty demanding.
3mm edging on melamine is a bit unusual, what's it for? I only ever use 1mm on cabinets and 2 on doors. Not even sure where I'd buy 3mm if I could use it, Surteco and Consolidated only sell up to 2mm.

Industry standard here is 1mm ABS for carcasses and 2mm for doors/drawer faces, don't think I've ever seen off-the-shelf 3mm edging even in timber (I do know it exists, it's just not a thing here in Oz).
It's a pity you're limited to single phase, there are always good deals on used 3-phase machines
