Check your outbox
I think they are all added up to a max of 60 messages combined"All the gear and no idea"

I think that when you first join you can't keep too many messages but the capacity of your PM boxes increases with posts made.
This serves the function of making people post nonsense just so that they can get a manageable PM service.

I thought that was to encourage participation on the forum and also if a spammer got through to stop them immediately spamming a lot of members by way of pm's.
Giving the ability to send out 60 messages to a new member is like giving the forums over to the spammers and scammers to do with what they like. It has happened before where a newbie has sent out a few dozen pm's in their first half hour on the forums before being caught. But by then the damage is done as members have gone to toxic sites and been infected with malware, trackers and worse.
I make no apologies for limiting the number of pm for new members.

I kinda think it would be good though if a newbie posting something for sale could receive more PM's than they can send, so they could at least get responses from fellow forum members regarding what they've posted? Assuming you can set different quota's on incoming/outgoing that is?
cheers, Ian

Responses from forum members should be done in the sale thread in accordance with the rules of the Market place.
Rules for posting in The Market Place Forums
Major Rule.
All correspondence between Buyers and Sellers is to be done through the board. PM's and Emails are for exchanging personal contact information only once a deal has been done.
Anyone found flouting this will have their posts deleted.
Peter.
