Bracing after restumping
(Sorry if this is repeated, I couldn't find my original post and repeated it - then they both showed up ) an there is no way that I can see to delete a post, )
I am after the order of operations when restumping a house. I am in Qld and am having my house re-stumped with steel stumps. Previously they were wooden and in need of replacement.
I am a little concerned because the restumper didn't put the cross bracing in before pailings were put around the outside. Now he is telling me I might need to put bracing in places where it will be in the way. My original plan only had bracing on the outside stumps but I think the pailings have gotten in the way of that. I am confused. My head tells me he should have done the bracing first, but he didn't and I he has obviously done a lot more restumping jobs than I have. I really just want to have a little movement as possible with as little obstructions under the house as possible. Does anyone have comments regarding bracing, the order it goes on and how much is required? My house is 7mtrs wide, 12 meters deep the PFC used is 200 all the way across and we are using three stumps, 1 at each end of the bearer and on 2meters in from one side.
Cheers
