Taking "Selfies"
This is just for fun and because if we don't use the Polls forum I fear it may be removed.I stumbled across a FB page of a much younger distant relative and found it hard to cope with the number of selfies on that page so it got me thinking, "What is it with these selfies?"So the poll is how often have you taken a selfie and what do you think of them - click all that apply.

Bob,
I've voted for never having taken a selfie and I would have voted for the last one as well except that I don't hate Collingwood.
Peter.

Yeah, I nearly went for the last option but realised I have taken a selfie for ID card purposes

Thanks for the responses.
Before someone says it, "noting new here - the responses are just reflecting the largely old-fart community".
I'm somewhat surprised more of the "I only take a selfie when someone else is in the photo." response is not popping up. Perhaps when the younger generation get home from work we'll see those popping up.
Then there's also the possible distinction between taking the odd selfie and constantly posting them on-line, especially those with a pulled face or while doing something jack-assed.
Despite my apparent attitude I fully support the right for anyone to act the fool, in fact older people probably don't do it enough.
Can you tell I have the flu and am not up to much in the shed )

Hi,
Acting the fool is one thing but becomes a problem when you don't have to act.

Taking "Selfies"
This is about the only selfie I have taken, only because it isn't every day I see an emu walking the streets when I deliver the mail.
Koalas, snakes, kangaroos, dogs and horses are common though.

Looks like I'm currently the odd duck.
The best thing about mobile phones is that I can take selfies with them. Or pix of anything I so desire. I choose not to take selfies, never have taken one, but that's besides the point.
Why do I say that's the best thing? Because they're tits useless for anything else - such as making or taking phone cxalls - once you're outside the city limits!
I really dunno why they're not called "occasionally communication enabled cameras." It'd be more acurate...

Phones take photos? I don't use it for anything else so I might give that a go. After I retired I swore I would never again carry a mobile phone.

I currently own several mobile phones; all of them have buttons. I very rarely use the camera and it points the wrong way for selfies; in any case I don't do Bookface or any of that social garbage. When it comes to family pictures I'm usually on the other side of the camera; I'm one of those people who just doesn't like being photographed.
The Collingwood thing; not an issue for me as I despise all AFL teams equally and without favour. Closely followed by rugby (league; then union) but nothing compares to the utter loathing I feel for soccer. Bunch of overpaid ballerinas tripping over own bootlaces; screaming "Ow, my hair!!!"......Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.
