Hello from canada.
New to woodturning. Just receiving a shipment of au burls. Very expensive up here. $4,000 for 25 . Must be nice to have them in your back yard.

Welcome Lefley. I'm in McBride, an hour+ west of Jasper. Not much burl here any more.
Supposed to be worth a look around Quesnel Lake.
Where do you hang your hat?

G'Day & Welcome to the Great Southern Land and to a top forum "Lefley".
There are quite a few "Canuck" members plus the other North American country and the rest of the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
There is a top mob in the toymaking and model making section of the forum, so please post your toys.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.....
Cheers from On Top DownUnder, crowie

Hi Lefley, I've been to BC a few times and just love how wild and beautiful it is. I have a mate there who used to mill timber at the Vancouver City Council log dump on the shores of English Bay (Spanish Banks Beach Park) - I also know someone in Williams Lake. I've also had a hankering to go and do a woodwork course at Robert's Creek.
Talking about Burls I have a Sheoak Burl on my drive way that I should cut up and do something with.

Welcome mate.
Burl? I drive past trees with burl every day and have a mate who drops trees for a living, I get free wood to burn or turn. I count myself very lucky.
