Disapointing
Went to the Perth Royal show yesterday and not the slightest hint of Carbatec, Timbecon or anything wood work related.
Granted the cost is high, but surely a show of this size would be worth a staff member and a token ute load of tools and gear to sell.
Everyone goes all out for the main WW show, but ignore a great opportunity to bring new blood in to the game?
Cheers

The word "Agricultural" comes to mind. I havn't seen four legged cows at thePerth WWW Show, yet.
Doing a show is a huge undertaking. It has to be done properly, just a ute load of tools will give the impression of a back yard operation or a garage sale. It is important to market one's wares as well as commitment, service, back up and identity. In other words the whole picture. FYI Perth used to have two woodshows a year....one in March and the other in August. Perth being the most isolated city in the world, has a limited number of people and spending power. One show depletes the bank accounts and the flexiblity of the plastic to such an extent that a second show would basically only increase overheads for a very limited increase in sales. If this wasn't the case, I'm sure we would still be having two WWW shows per year.
Take care

Was a time some years back when Ross Gobby (the main man)from Timbecon would be there in one of the main pavilions close to the main gate with a coupla helpers pushing Tritons etc and in his early days of establishing his business.
Guess the floor space would be expensive to occupy over the period of the show ...besides he does'nt have to do it now with all the woodshows around the country.

Everyone has a photographic memory, some just don't have film.

No sail boats there either I suppose. What is the world coming to
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

There was some woodwork in the craft pavilion, waaaaay up the back. Though there must have been some strange judging classes - a couple of hall tables were in the "woodturning" category  .
Oh, and there was the wood-cutting as well. Didn't think about it till I went home, but I should have asked what they did with all the ends of stumps.Cheers, Craig
What was the greatest thing before sliced bread?
