Is the Melb WWW on early and no one told me?
Did Johnny evacuate Vic and no one told me?
Oh well, back to the shed......................

Just off to the library with the little princess, then it's home to do some more filleting on the yellowtail - can't wait to get that rotten boat in the water so I can catch some fish and do some filleting of a different kind

Been for a surf, putting out the washing, annoying MBitW, wash the pups, install vent into outside brick wall of bathroom, clean up a big mess, shave head, now checking on Lee Valley order and reading the new posts!

Been tasked with the continuation of the 'mother of all spring cleans'.

Woke up at a friend's place near O'Reilly's guest house in the Gold Coast Hinterland, (not surprising, cause that's where we went to sleep).

Went for a gentle walk through the rainforest for a few hours, had a quick batch of pancakes in the scrub (true!), drove home (three hours, listening to Mongolian throat singing CD's ) Now it's 3.40 pm, nothing but football on tele, so we're off to catch up with MathewA.

Gee it's quiet in here!!

seeing as you asked.. I was down the local with the "bit on the side" watching a program on the tellie about some local tradition that had been taken over by interstate interlopers , and listening to the drunken cowd whinge about some cup being taken interstate

I spent 4 hrs sanding, gotta say - the worst part of ww is the sanding... with the orbital on high, working up thru the grades and the dust bucket whining away I had plenty of time to contemplate how much I hate sanding.

ive started on 40, went to 80, then 120, tomorrow I go up to 240 then 400.

its a big blanket box my dear and the timber is she oak - bugger; thats some of the densest, hardest timber i've worked.

on a positive note the legs are black heart sass and working up thru the grades shows up some lovely spalting and some delicate pink in the timber, its much easier to sand than oak.

I'll post some pics once its done.

Iain blame mine on BMX racing, the kids & I share a highly developed sense of motor type sport competiveness (dubbed the red visor or mist), our 8.5 yr old Daughter finally raced in a mixed group of boys & girls today from 8.5 (her) to 13 yr olds, first corner second race she powerslid her way briefly into 1st position (to be entirely fair to the other kids though she is 140cm & 48 kilo and as strong as) but lost out to stamina by turn 3, but was as proud as punch, hopefully her new 3.5 kilo racebike will be here before end of school holidays . Little brother 4.5 (hes' been racing for a while now)rode solidly as well all day, had bulk fun & I finally made the decision to buy a good bike start racing again :eek:
Should be good for a whole set of new injuries and hospital trips I reckon .

Don't worry Daddles, today is the start of Patrols for the Surf Life Saving movement here in NSW and I got an all day patrol 1000-1700. Oh what fun! The guessologists predicted rain, but there is none on the radar, so I will have to deal with the little darlings that get sent down to the beach. There is no surf as well - looks like plan B will be enacted - looking for the financial records for the last ten years - more fun!
