    Default ebay spoof around again

I got a spoof email supposedly from ebay today, saying the account would be closed unless I clicked the link and re-entered my details. These pricks must be kidding themselves if they think an intelligent plasticine person like myself would fall for that one. But I bet many do

I've recieved a few of these over the time.
Give them some "John Doe" and Fic. Account numbers,
    and see what goes on

I did, and they opened up like a ripe Boil
    Just blocked them then,
    they're SO obvious

I still get the Nigerian scams elsewhere

    Pretty unique really

And yes, these scumbags are everywhere. Most even moderately intelligent folk will see it for the scam that it is, but just a few percent, against an audience of..??? millions, I'd guess. Well...

    Cheers!

Bassoon youre thinking just like a scammer/spammer....the reason these people proliferate is simply because it doesnt COST them anything to carry out their scams. If it did cost them money to send their emails the problem would disappear overnight.

A friend of mine works for a major network security company. He had access to the logs such scammers left in one computer they controlled. They had quite a few eBay accounts, with CC info, social security numbers, bank account information, and everything else they might need for being someone else.

Any Ebay spoofs - forward them to the Ebay spoof address and they will take action to shut them down.

Would suggest that all delete these 'fyshing' emails. Don't respond, just CRL Delete (just delete leaves the thing in your deleted box).

Worst thing you can do (apart from buy that Viagra clone, although I do percieve a crying need in some members) is to click the 'take me off your list' button. This just confirms to the scammers that you exist and your spam will expoentially grow - instantly.
