Default Automotive Paint Nib removers (watch this)

If you bugger up a finish and want to remove a hair, nibs or tiny defect, use the method that the auto paint refinishers use.

These are called Paint Nib Removers.

Duh. But watch and be amazed. Finish off the same way they do... through the grades of paper then polish. Easy!

and a video (Ive skipped the rubbish intro)

Full disclosure: I do this to get wicked flat and super thin & shiny finishes on my boxes. Here is a sample of how its done: https://youtu.be/SfJkBhhZguQ?t=87

Automotive paint technology has come a long way since two packs were first used. I went to 1500 W&D on a polyurethane finish and was astounded at the result and could have got it better if I had gone further.

Thanks! Great to have useful information once in a while.
Innovations are those useful things that, by dint of chance, manage to survive the stupidity and destructive tendencies inherent in human nature.

I often watch auto paint refinishing videos on youtube. I use many of the techniques in finishing nitro and poly.

Virtually all of the same gear that can get a mint finish on a show car are the same for dealing with our finishes... plus the gear is 1/4 the price!

It might be possible to buy from any smash repair paint supplier.

Or make something similar with a cut down file for the fine, a filler file for the coarse and I don't know of a file with a slight convex.
