TTiT,
Is there any chance you could provide a link to where you bought the spindle -- it looks like exactly what I'm after.
Thank you.

I did ask Michael but all he could tell me was that it was one of those Chinese sites - he reckons they were all selling much the same thing for much the same price but couldn't remember which site exactly.
A quick Google came up with this one which looks exactly like the kit we got . . . CNC 2.2KW Spindle Motor + Frequency inverter VFD + Mount + ER20 Collet + pump | eBay

On time for once
Pic 1. What I've attached to the extension table to set it up - fixed base, switch (after several years without it!), brace and my home-grown extraction adapter.
Pic 2. Table top - has a hole for the allen-key lift but I've never used it - you have to unlock the spindle anyway so its easier to use the micro-adjuster and the 3 quick-stops to adjust it from below.
Pic 3. The whizz-bang extractor connection.
Pic 4. All hooked up
Pic 5. With the sliding table in front, it isn't much different to any other router table but also has the added advantage of the sliding table.

Ooooooo I like that. Looks like it comes apart fairly easily. Great use of that little end table

Thanks for that, more food for thought. Using a spindle it might be possible to get the cutter closer to the table, do you use the sliding table for routing to push the timber past the cutter?

Takes about 20 seconds - one wingnut on the brace and the whole things lifts off slotted holes.
Whenever the piece I'm working on is big enough to reach the slide I clamp it down - a lot less effort required and keeps the pinkys well clear of the pointy bits!
