I do not think it is laziness in all cases. I personally choose the option that is best suited for the circumstances.
But if you really feel that people are being lazy and picking the biggest button, why not re-label the "reply" button to read;
"Please consider the extra data usage and click this button to reply without quoting any text or pictures"
Then it will be much bigger than the "reply with quote" button and all the lazy people will pick that one.

. . . . . the user would also have to then highlight that text and hit the "Quote" icon on the toolbar.

Getting back on topic, it also annoys me very much to see that insidious spam of Tapatalk on every post and lately it is even showing that the post was made from an I pad.
As apparently we can't seem to stop this may be I should join in with my own message of how I post.

Just a suggestion for all, I rarely use the reply with quote, but when I felt it was pertinent and the quote was long, I delete what is "extra" and only leave what I'm responding to.

I do the same as Bob38S - but primarily for ease of understanding as I am usually only responding to part of someone's post.

I'll say sorry to all then being brand new to Taptalk and only an occasional user, more reader from than posting. Usually I go through all settings etc with the new tablet its as said occasional use although I've had Andriod phone for years. I'll look deeper into a number of settings because as soon as its turned on updates of threads and new threads download. Thats going to phiss the misses off.
However I do like that through TT I get updates to subscribed threads where as through notifications emailed to me I don't. Go figure eh. Photos able to be seen with out the hassles etc etc.
