How to apply flocking
Hi, never done flocking before, so I am going to have a go at some of the Carbatec flocking, black in colour. Can anyone please advise on the best way to apply it, so that it doesn't lump, but spreads nice and evenly on the top surface of a flat piece of MDF 200 x 200? It will have 9 x 12mm holes drilled in it, that I would like coated too
I was thinking of doing a couple of coats of black paint, and putting the flocking on the 2nd coat while still wet.
Do you shake the MDF after the flocking is applied, or put it in a box to let it dry?
I would very much welcome your adviceregards,
Dengy

Hi,
The glue colour matches the flocking so you get even coverage. You shake it off when dry. At least that's how it worked for me when I did draws for some band sawed boxes.
Instructions come with the kit.

the easiest way is to use the flocking applicator which is basically a tube with a bunch of holes to allow for the flocking to be applied. What ever you do don't play with the flock until the paint has dried.follow the instructions and you should be good.
