Where to buy Insert nut 4mm
Hi, does anyone know where I can buy these insert nuts locally in Perth (4mm internal thread with 8mm length).
I need them for some wooden handles I wish to make.
See the link below for what it looks like. I can get it from them but $18.70 for shipping for something small and light that costs $16.50 for 5 packs seems a little excessive. The big green shed only has the 6mm internal threads and thus too big for wooden handles unless the handles are chunky.
Regards
Les

Hi Les,
i know it is not WA but look at McJings website.
Item NoSN6M410F.
Their postage rates used to be very reasonable. And my head I'd be a scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.

Hi Les, Same problem here except I need 6mm (1/4). But around 30 years ago I bought a job lot of mostly rubbish. The thing is that in with the junk was around 50 SS insert nuts of the size that will do what you want. The question is how many do you need?

The thread is almost 2 years old. I am sure that he has probably sorted this out by now.

Just in case anyone does want them, the answer is Hafele; search for screw-in sleeves

Not sure if this helps or hinders but, I have had success at the local Bolt Shop. They carry heaps of different fasteners often in different metals. They are in the main very knowledgeable and happy to look stuff up and order if they don't have it. In the past I have purchased 1, a few or 20+ ~ not a problem.

Bob
