I was reviewing resumes for an engineering position. It was the company policy to try to promote from within. As I'm reading, I realize that I had read this resume before. How was that possible? As you read there are three piles, unread, thanks but no thanks, look at this one again.
I search and sure enough there is the same resume in the look at this one again pile. Odd, the resumes are word for word identical, even college graduation dates but different applicant names. Both resumes went into the thanks but no thanks pile.
Later, Human Resources calls me wanting to know why thanks but no thanks. I told HR to read both resumes and I'll wait on the phone while you do. In a minute or two HR is laughing. Then HR says, "Enough said."
