G'day All
Hi,
I'm Shayne and am just getting into the whole woodwork world. I have been working with metal for years but always wanted to get into wood but never really had the space for a workshop of any kind. My family and I have just moved from Canberra to Townsville (just a little move! lol) and I now have a double garage that I can get set up in so no more excuses. I have been a drummer/percussionist from 30 years now and have always wanted to build my own snare and cajon drum. I have a design and know what I want to do and just need to get my workshop set up and find the right timbers which, from what I have read on here and other forums, will definitely be the hardest part.
Anyway, I look forward to learning and sharing with you all as I get set up and start with small projects to hone my skills leading up to my snare drum and maybe more.

There are quite a few members in North Queensland & across Queensland plus the rest of the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
