    Default Cutting fibreglass

    Dear all,

I have a cubbyhouse that is plywood clad with a fibreglass material which is about 5 mm thick. Is it dangerous to cut fibreglass and what sort of protection should be worn? As the cubbyhouse is no longer needed I will be demolishing it, so maybe there's another way to break it down.

Wear a decent partical half face mask(not those **** paper things), if you have sensitive skin cover up as F/G makes very floaty dust/fibres or you'll be real itchy and open weave clothes are no good...
Cut it with a very coarse blade, a chainsaw will make quick work of it, a small amount of water while cutting will help keep the dust to a minimum.

Err... pay someone else to do it!
If its affecting you badly buy some of those disposable full body suits that they use for spray painting and stuff.

Wish I had payed someone else to do it, too late I've done the job, I thought there might be a cream that I could use, must look in the workshop, wonder if that WD40 will help, it's suppose to help in everything else....
