    There are plenty of good bird books for Australian birds. Two I have used are field guides to Australian birds. One is by Graham Pizzey and one is by Simpson and Day. If you see a cheap copy of either in a second hand shop, remaindered at the newsagent or similar, grab it. They are worth having.
