    Default New Here

    Hi,

I'm Bob, i live on the North Coast of NSW. I have recently acquired a fair amount Australian Red Cedar, it was cut down and milled in 1992, so well and truly seasoned.

I am interested in finding out more about it, how i can work it, and any tips would be of great use.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Bob",
There are quite a few members in Northern NSW with a stack of members in Brisbane & S.E. Queensland plus the rest of the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
    Enjoy the forum.
    Enjoy your woodwork......
    Cheers crowie

PS - You can always market place the Australian Red Cedar if you have too much....

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I will be putting the timber in my rack tomorrow, but before i do that i will number, measure and photograph each piece, as a catalouge of what there is, so i know how much there is.

There is no doubt i will be seeking guidance on how to do justice to this wonderful wood.

DSCF1089 (398x640).jpg Hi, I finally got the wood in the rack, dodging all the rain.

Here is a piece of it that has been planed, i think it is very nice, its size is 1425mm long, 280mm wide and 45mm thick.

I now have many questions and where do i put them on the forum?

    Bob

Welcome Bob. Depends on the type of questions. Best way is to have a look through the home page at all the sub-forum categories, and choose from there. General Qs about the timber itself go into "Timber".
