Timber wall 3x1 bracing
Hi everyone. I am looking at cutting a timber 3x1 brace in a wall to install a new window. To compensate for cutting the it I plan on utilising bracing ply around the opening. Can anyone tell me what the original 3x 1 would be rated (kN) so that I can work out the amount of ply bracing required. I am aware of the calculations required to figure out racking loads in the direction of the wall and at the moment I plan on using ply on the whole wall to ensure the cladding is straight but want to ensure what I am doing is adequate. Cheers
