G,day all. I'm David from Port Lincoln.
ive just joined here I'm a chippie by trade but a weekend woodworker( and that's a different ball game ). I get a kick from woodworking as its in my time at my pace and I made it.
ive got my shed,my tools and I want to learn more.
how much trouble can a bloke get into in his shed ? Lots actually as I also home brew .
so I'm looking forward to learning more here and when time permits I'll trawl through the topics for ideas and tips.
    cheers.

Hiya David, just remember not to get your two hobbies in the shed mixed up! Rimu dust is not
    a suitable replacement for hops

Which of the many factions of woodworkers who are represented here do you belong to?

As a woodworker I reckon I'm a beginner I have in the past knocked out some pleasing bits and pieces but with no knowledge of how wood actually reacts to climate and the seasons, and how different species are best suited for using together I think it's time I did some reading and asked questions.
i have been looking at the different topic threads here and there is a lot of info to be found.
My original reason for joining was to find more info about breadboard ends as I am planning a build for a kegerator.
A kegerator is a chest freezer that is modified so it won't freeze the kegs inside it but keep them cool, with beer taps attatched to the top .the idea is to use recycled timber for the frame etc while (trying ) to make it look schmick with a solid timber top ( breadboard) ends from a heap of old timber I have.
Oregon,Jarrah which was salvaged from various jobs and some from buildings that were standing for 60 + years before demolition.
i also have some pieces of branches and stumps from Apricot,Cherry,Almond and Peach trees that I would like to cut up for use at some stage.
And yep, gotta be aware of the possible dangers of machining all types of wood species ,the dust and physical contact and best application/ use..
    So a lot to learn.
