How to reduce the size of photos to 100kb

Yup, VSO seems pretty damned good. It even works with RAW files from my Nikon.

More clicks compared to what? I generally use four clicks: (1) right-click on the photo(s)>(2) vso image resizer>(3) ok>(4)close. Never had it degrade an image or remove strips. The final size in pixels is a saveable preference (tick the 'save as default' at the bottom of the dialog box).

it's the same number of clicks to operate. The image I tried it on shrunk to 9kb with VSO and 13kb with the Power Toy one.

MS resizer takes 3 clicks and so simple to use.

I have IrfanView and can resize the picture to 640x480 pixels
but after saving it is still 596Kb.
How do I compress it? with IrfanView.

If you are going to use the pic on the internet, save it as a GIF. This will reduce filesize greatly. And for net viewing, 256 color GIFs look almost identical to JPGs.

If you want to use JPG, chenge the save quality to 50. It cuts way down on filesize.

you just install it and then right click on the pic and tel it to resize. verry easy.

it can also be done in microsoft publisher.

I use shrink pic http://onthegosoft.com/sp_download.htm it automaticly shrinks the pic for you every time you upload a pi to the web and the quality is still really good. you can also resize so what ever size you want .excelent program when uploading or sending a lot of pics.

Hi.
The way I reduced photos I have posted was to email them to myself , when you do that you are asked if you want to reduce file size. Say yes then the photos emailed to yourself are of postable sizes.
