Just guessing here (as I try to stay well clear of formwork and anything else remotely associated with concrete ) but it's probably a release oil which eliminatrd or at least minimises concrete sticking to the formwork.

    Question

No, no, no I'm talking about the I-beams that lie under the formwork panels. These beams have no contact with the concrete. But whatever the making company, these beams are finnished with something yellow. What could it be?

Without contacting the supplier I wouldn't know, but I'd still be guessing a release oil (I understood the question first time round). Just because they're not meant to be in contact with the concrete doesn't mean they won't get concrete splashed and spilt all over them.

The thing is deffinitely not laquer, it's thin, it's matt, it's like the "blond" finnish in guitarbuilding but more yellow.
