Non Perfumed Finish.
I have made some Tea boxes and am looking for a finish to use that does not have a perfume that will infuse with the tea. Would preferably like a wipe on wipe off finish like burnishing oil.
Is there such a substance ?<object type="cosymantecnisbfw" cotype="cs" id="SILOBFWOBJECTID" style=" display: block;"></object>

Antique tea caddies were finished with shellac outside but the tea bins were usually metal lined - often lead foil! Maybe not such a good idea now that we know about lead poisoning but I have used tinned steel fabricated inserts in the past.
I do not recollect any scent from Hard Shellac and it is moisture and heat resistant once fully dried (cross linked). It is food safe and easy to apply as well.

Thanks for that. The tea will be in bags not loose so i'll give the hard Shellac a go.<object type="cosymantecnisbfw" cotype="cs" id="SILOBFWOBJECTID" style=" display: block;"></object>
