Newbie from northern rivers looking for advice
Hi guys, i have recently bought a second hand lathe and would like to start turning pens, only problem is i haven't touched a lathe since school. I have bought a few books and some new chisels and realise i will need more, is there some where around our area i can go to get a bit of experience or advice on gear and how to get started, lessons etc .thanks

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "cog".
There are quite a few of members in Northern Rivers area and across S.E. Queensland plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork & turning ......
Cheers crowie
PS _ May I encourage you to ask your turning question in both the turning & general sections of the forum to gain a wider viewing and thus responses...sorry I can't be more help but I don't have a lathe.....

There's a strong & active group in Mullumbimby - The Men's Shed, meets every Friday and has a fully equipped (and enviable) workshop. Unfortunately women aren't allowed... I know the guy who owns the property, let me know if you'd like his contact number.
Cheers.
