'Illegal' extension, what to do? (WA)
Ok so when I bought my property the real estate agent made a point of saying how the extension was council approved and I didn't really give it much thought. Anyhow after seeing some of the poor quality workmanship I decided to get a copy of the plans for peace of mind and the extension nor the garage/shed out back (brick construction) are on the plans, the only documents I received was the original build plans and nothing else.
Now looking on Google Earth historic images it's all been here as far back as 2003 (images don't go back any further) and i'm just wondering what the best/wisest course of action, obviously it's not been an issue up until this point as it's still here but I would like to do some structural renovation at some point (new doorway, remove load bearing wall) which as I understand will need approval in itself but then if I have a complete extension which isn't approved then why bother (if you catch my drift).
Oh yes and i'm in WA.
