    Default Howdy

    Hi guys,

Neil here. I work in sales and marketing operations and have absolutely no experience in wood working whatsoever. I like working with my hands and as a hobby on the weekends I do a bit of steel work and decided to spread that through to wood work as well.

I have a 14 month old son (Sebastian) and I thought I would work on a couple of projects for him. The big goal is to build a cubby house and play set, but before that I think I might tackle some smaller projects.

When I buys tools I don't usually try to get things that will last, so my trip to Total Tools yesterday wasn't cheap haha

So first up, when Seb wakes up and I can make some noise, is to make a work bench. I've had a Bunnings trip this morning to pick up supplies. I have a CNC router on order from 3dtek (the X-Carve) so my project today is to knock up a work bench that will house it. Not sure if I should draw out first what I have in my head or just wing it. I think today I might just wing it and build it as I go - wish me luck =)

    Welcome mate.

Did you get the message about photos?

We just love photos of other peoples projects.

Good to hear you are involving the young one.
My dad had me pulling old valve radios apart when I was about five, so I am told; great training.
