Steel in concrete question
I'm building an aerial tramway (sort of flying fox) to bring my honey harvest 50 meters up a steep slope from the apairy site at the bottom of our block to the house. The design says the 75x75 HSS post at the bottom end needs to be concreted 1/3 it's length in the ground - in this case 1.2 meters. Trouble is I have hit rock at 1 meter. I will be terracing and levelling a landing station around the post so will it be OK to make the fill 200 mm deeper and bring the concrete up the extra height with formwork ?
