First Child
It has not really been a secret as I have been talking to forum members that I have met just not a common topic among wood workers. I know that some of you would be anxiously awaiting on this information.
My wife and I wish to announce the birth of our first child.
A healthy boy named Jingcon.
He was born on the 30th of July.
I will share two short stories for those that are still reading this.
When my wife and I did our first ultrasound they normally take a measurement and at this stage he was 2mm long. My reply to my wife was he is not even longer than a tooth of a saw blade. Some perspective thoughts.
While at the hospital my father in-law made a recording of Jingcon crying, you know how it is babies sometimes cry. When we returned home that evening he replayed the recording which made my mother in-law and aunty both jump.

Congratulations Christos and the new mother!!
Babies have an knack of changing the routine of a couples life. The shed and tools and stuff will have to take a "back seat" with the new baby in the house.
I hope he settles in fast and will allow you both some decent sleep.Just do it!
Kind regards Rod

So far it has only been a couple of days since the birth. My wife and child are still in hospital. She was very tired after the birth.
I am spending as much time as I can in the hospital trying to take some pressure off my wife. There is so much that I need to learn. The hospital staff are truly amazing with the amount of help they give.

Oh NO you do realise this is going to create an ego problem Chrstos one Gentleman Woodworks birthday is now shared with your new son Jingcon.
i Congratulations to Bia and you from Sue & I mate.
For all the wives out there you are missing the important stats (says Sue) time of birth, weight at birth, length at birth. IF you were at the birth???? We know you caused the problem.
First woodwork project will be???? Cot? Cradle? Rocking Horse? Mobile for over cradle? teething ring? Rattle? gates for rooms for NO access?
Best get cracking old fellow don't forget you also have nappies to change washing to do feeding time

Congratulations Christos, please give my best to the Mrs.
After all she is the one who did all the work while you had the fun.
Just think of all the joys of father hood yet to come.
Broken bones
Competitive sports
"Where do babies come from"
Wrecked vehicles
And the list goes on.
At about the time that he reaches 21 years, he'll ask if you were going to night classes for the last three years because you seem so much smarter now.
