Woodworking vs custom
Hi There,
I am very not sure if this is the right category for my question but it seems appropriate!
I am currently planning on ( finally ) making my Christmas gifts in the shop and bringing them back to France for my family.
I know Australian custom is very strict about that kind of thing.
Does any of you have any experience on the matter ?
All of the items will be made out of really basic timber : ply, gum, oak and ash.
Thank a lot in advance !

Australian Customs is strict about stuff entering the country (insects and diseases are the concern), not so much leaving (I've happily exited Australian customs with 6 kilos of Australian beef frozen solid in my suitcase, bound for Singapore) - so check with French import regulations and see what issues they have.

I think going out is fine, bringing it in is generally the issue. I have sent a nimber of items overseas in the past with no issue.
Check France custims too. The local post office can help with that. They have a list of what can or cannot be sent to certain countries

WHS. The issue won't be with Australian quarantine ... They only worry about entry.
But check with French quarantine, and/or any transits.Glenn Visca

Upsy
where will you enter Europe?
France or somewhere else?
If you've been before you'll know that France is part of the Schengen Zone and customs & immigration happen at your first point of entry to that zone, so it might not be French Customs who get uppy about wood products.regards from Alberta, Canada
