I used to make fuel tanks for 4Wds, one tank I'd made, welded to the stage of pressure testing and leaks were everywhere, nowhere near the welds, but in the sheet itself.
I got 2 sheets as a replacement, still didn't cover the cost of the work, but better than nothing.
