To everyone that has helped and been there over the last several months a big heartfelt thanks from my family and I. You made a real difference. Words cant express the emotion and gratitude.

One for my brother
School holidays are over. Kids went back to school today. The last two weeks Raechell and the kids have been away visiting some of her grown up kids.
The last two weeks I have been staying in a caravan close to work. This was our first chance as a family today to say thank you. Please see the pic
What you dont know is just before all this help I had a phone call from the bank letting me know I was behind in my mortgage repayments. I did not tell Raechell at the time. Between your help and two weeks of flat out overtime (while the family was away) we have virtually accounted for all bills. Whoops Raechell just found out now about the bank as she proof read this lol
Sincerely thankyou
Oh and i believe there is a parcel waiting for me at the post office. Raechell tells me she will collect it tomorrow for me

Dave
That is the most wonderful "thank you."
Incidentally, I think you many go down in the annals of history with that hat of yours; Only to be rivalled by Bob Catter and Molly Meldrum, not that I would really wish to associate you with either of them in the same breath.
I trust the parcel is a good one.

Well a parcel was waiting for me today. 2 little ones were particularly interested. Tommy and Sammy
Once it was open Tyler wanted a piece of the action
Sammy got the lions share but in no time it was divvied out evenly
I think I'm gonna have to put up a fight for them (or wait till they go to bed)
Thanks to Hiroller and MM

I think it is important to state categorically what I expect many of you have guessed.
Firstly, of course, the generosity of Mapleman in offering up the blanks for auction to raise funds. Thank you so much and I hope that Forum members continue to support you in the almost endless stream of highly figured timbers that you offer up for our consideration and enjoyment.
In fact I am pretty certain that you have quite a lot of interesting Mango coming up. I think you should (still) consider changing to Mangoman .
Secondly to Hiroller for his generosity in initially bidding for the pen blanks: Dare I say a little above market value? I am reminded of that first box of new season cherries that is auctioned off at the markets.
Thirdly, Hiroller doesn't actually own a wood lathe so, knowing Dave's love of woodturning, he donated them too. Wow! The Forums really do attract some amazing people. I consider myself privileged to know you all.
I have to say that Dave's post above of his children in their jarmies owning and dividing up the "building blocks" is just priceless. I hope you all get a kick out of that, particularly knowing that Dave is going to steal them back once their eyes are closed .
Extremely well done everyone and here I am including Ironwood, who made the beautiful pen also for auction, all those of you who donated funds and those of you who were not in a position to donate funds but offered words of encouragement, sympathy and ultimately condolence.
Thank you.

Sorry to side track this, but this is "one for my brother" also. Last Sunday, I got a text wanting to contact my brother, unfortunately he passed away 2 years ago last month. It turns out to be his son, the result of sowing ones wild oats on a Saturday Night, and forgetting to go to church on Sunday praying for a crop failure. The son is 30 years old, I'd heard of him, but being my brother thought it was full of BS as were most of his stories. Anyway we've been emailing back and forth, and hoping to catch up soon. Hoping he'll join this forum, as he's a tree lopper, so hopefully will get some nice pieces.

Dave, hope you enjoy turning the blanks. Should go nicely with the gear from Timberbits.
Well earned. Save a few to turn with your kids when they are old enough.
Big thanks to MAPLEMAN for the blanks and to Bushmiller for making it happen.
Paul, you are a good man.
